Job description

Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Senior Manager, People Compliance to join our People team.

Oscar is the first health insurance company built around a full stack technology platform and a relentless focus on serving our members. We started Oscar in 2012 to create the kind of health insurance company we would want for ourselves—one that behaves like a doctor in the family.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Manager of People Compliance is responsible for leading and managing key HR compliance functions including visa & immigration, health and safety, employee policy, and processes that support talent risk analysis.

You will report into the Senior Director, Human Resources.

Work Location: This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $135,792-$178,227 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

• Oversee all aspects of visa and immigration processes to ensure legal compliance for employees and be a strategic partner in evolving program support based on changing U.S. landscape

• Lead health & safety initiatives, audits, and training in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations

• Design, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures aligned with organizational goals and legal requirements

• Monitor and ensure compliance with labor laws, employment regulations, and internal HR standards to inform on adjustments as needed to policy and practices

• Identify and evaluate HR-related risks impacting the organization and develop mitigation strategies, contingency plans, and defined processes for consistency

• Lead the HR Governance team through strategy execution and act as first point of escalation

• Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners including but not limited to People, IT, Comms, Legal, and supporting vendors

• Engage as a project manager for annual handbook renewal and company reduction in force efforts

• Demonstrate integrity, fairness and professionalism in all business dealings that require high confidentiality

• Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• 2+ years leadership experience

• 5+ years progressive HR experience

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or commensurate experience
