Job description
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Fruit and vegetable combination farming. Hot. Cold/refrigerated. Dirty. Tasks: Clean the crops. Cut agricultural crops. Divide fresh harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots. Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour and volume to fetch high price in market.. Greenhouse cleaning. Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions. Hand harvesting vegetables. Pack fruits and vegetables. Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts. Sort fruits and vegetables. Tie and secure plants. Weeding. Clean work area. Harvest crops. Load, unload and transfer crates, supplies and farm produce, livestock and poultry. Detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock and poultry. Examine product for quality and its readiness for the market. Type of crops: Tomatoes. Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Work under pressure. Handling heavy loads. Tight deadlines. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Hand-eye co-ordination. Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Standing for extended periods.
