Responsibilities
• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and support your team of developers, providing clear goals, regular feedback, and structured growth plans.
• Technical Strategy: Define technical direction and prioritize work with product managers and partner teams to scale our international products and systems.
• Architecture & Performance: Ensure backend services and localized products are designed for high availability, performance, and security.
• Talent Management: Manage hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for engineers on your team.
• Collaboration & Execution: Coordinate with product, design, and other engineering leads to deliver critical initiatives on schedule and meet defined business metrics.
What you bring
• Experience: 5+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years of experience managing engineering teams.
• Product Shipping Experience: Proven experience leading collaborative teams across product, design, and engineering to ship complex products, including end-to-end management from concept to launch, and ensuring high-quality, reliable user experiences post-deployment.
• Systems Design: Experience designing and operating distributed systems with a focus on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Project Delivery: Experience delivering complex technical projects from initial planning through execution and deployment.
• Communication: Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and business partners to explain technical decisions and trade-offs.
• Mentorship: Experience supporting team development through regular coaching, mentoring, and feedback.

Salary
Toronto, ON $200,000 — $235,000 CAD
