Responsibilities
• Lead, grow, and support a team of software engineers working on Robinhood’s Credit Cards & Banking product area
• Set clear direction for the team across execution, technical design, and people development
• Partner with product managers, designers, and cross-functional stakeholders to define roadmaps and deliver high-impact customer experiences
• Drive the architecture, execution, and operational excellence needed to build reliable, scalable card and banking systems
• Guide engineering decisions across product surfaces, backend services, and platform dependencies
• Improve team health and effectiveness through strong planning, prioritization, feedback, and career development
• Hire exceptional engineers and raise the bar on talent, performance, and engineering craftsmanship
• Help the team move quickly while maintaining high standards for quality, reliability, and customer trust
What you bring
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years of experience managing engineering teams
Requirements
• Strong technical judgment and the ability to partner closely on architecture, tradeoffs, and execution
• Experience working on complex distributed systems, backend services, or full-stack consumer products
• A track record of driving cross-functional initiatives from concept through launch
• Experience coaching and developing engineers through regular feedback, performance management, and career growth
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical partner
• A high bar for execution, product quality, and building strong teams

In addition to the base pay range listed below, this role is also eligible for bonus opportunities + equity + benefits.
Base pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, location, business needs, or market demands. The expected base pay range for this role is based on the location where the work will be performed and is aligned to one of 3 compensation zones. For other locations not listed, compensation can be discussed with your recruiter during the interview process.
Salary
Zone 1 (Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; Bellevue, WA; Washington, DC) $230,000 — $270,000 USD
Zone 2 (Denver, CO; Westlake, TX; Chicago, IL) $203,000 — $238,000 USD
Zone 3 (Lake Mary, FL; Clearwater, FL; Gainesville, FL) $180,000 — $211,000 USD
