About the team

The Billing Configuration team enables extensibility of all Billing concepts and owns the core infrastructure needed to manage configuration changes over time and custom billing logic use cases.

As the engineering manager for Billing Configuration, you’ll own the operational and technical direction of the platforms that let Stripe users and internal teams model, customize, and evolve how billing works. You’ll lead the team building the foundational configuration layer for Stripe Billing, enabling flexible products, pricing, eligibility, entitlements, and billing behavior. • Partner with stakeholders across organizations to deliver billing solutions

Minimum requirements

• 4+ years of engineering management experience, directly managing and growing teams of 5+ engineers focused on building and shipping products at scale

• 8+ years of full-time software development experience

• Track record of leading engineering teams responsible for high-traffic, low-latency, and extensible systems

• Deep user empathy with a history of working backwards from internal and external customer needs

• Proven ability to drive rigorous decision-making and build strong partnerships across teams

• Ability to handle ambiguity, creatively solve complex challenges, and execute on competing high-impact priorities

• Demonstrated focus on system reliability, operational health, and incident response

• Track record of delivering shared infrastructure across multiple business units

• Background in billing, metering, or large-scale distributed systems
